Outdoor Living in Sedona, Arizona, Designed Around the View

When the landscape beyond your patio is part of what makes your home special, covering that space shouldn't mean shutting yourself off from it. You may want relief from the afternoon sun without losing the open-air feeling, or a comfortable place to sit outside longer when conditions change. The challenge is creating coverage that works with the setting, not against it.

StruXure Southwest helps Sedona homeowners rethink outdoor living with adjustable louvered roofs, motorized screens, and custom decks. Instead of choosing between an uncovered patio and permanent overhead coverage, you can create a space with more flexibility for shade, fresh air, privacy, and the views that made you want to spend time outside in the first place.

Create Shade Without Giving Up the Open-Air Feeling

Sedona gives homeowners plenty of reasons to look beyond the walls of the house. But an exposed patio can become much less inviting when direct sun reaches the seating or dining area. Traditional patio cover types generally make you choose between openness and coverage. A StruXure louvered roof gives you more control over that balance.

The adjustable louvers can open when you want sunlight and fresh air, reposition for backyard shade when direct sun becomes uncomfortable, or close when you want additional overhead coverage. That flexibility lets the outdoor environment change without permanently covering the view above. For a patio designed around relaxing, dining, entertaining, or simply enjoying the surroundings, that control can make the space much easier to use.

Louvered Roof Installation for Sedona Homes

The right StruXure system depends on where you want coverage and how you want the finished area to feel. Pergola X and Cabana X offer two different approaches:

Pergola X: Adjustable Coverage Where You Need It

Pergola X is StruXure's motorized aluminum louvered roof system. You can design it as an attached or freestanding structure, giving you flexibility based on your existing patio and backyard layout.

Adjustable louvers let you control sunlight, shade, airflow, and overhead coverage while maintaining the connection between your home and the outdoors. For homeowners looking for patio shade without committing to a permanently closed roof, Pergola X offers a more adaptable approach.

Cabana X: Create a Separate Outdoor Destination

Cabana X offers a freestanding approach for homeowners who want to establish a more distinct destination within the property.

Instead of covering an area directly connected to the home, Cabana X can create its own place to gather, dine, relax, or enjoy the surrounding landscape. It's another option when your outdoor living plans extend beyond the existing patio.

Add Another Layer of Comfort With Motorized Screens

Overhead shade is only one part of creating a comfortable outdoor environment. Motorized screens give you additional control around the sides of the space.

Screens can provide privacy, additional shade, wind control, and insect protection when you want them. When you don't, they retract to keep the space more open.

For homeowners considering both a louvered roof and screens, planning the features together can create a more cohesive outdoor space than treating each addition as a separate project.

Start From the Ground Up With a Custom Deck

Not every outdoor living project begins with an existing patio. Sometimes, the right first step is creating the surface where everything else will happen.

StruXure Southwest offers deck design and installation for homeowners creating new seating, dining, and gathering areas. A custom deck can establish the footprint of your outdoor space while giving a louvered roof, furniture, and other features a defined place within the design.

For larger projects, thinking about the deck and coverage together can help the finished backyard feel like one intentional space rather than several additions made at different times.

A StruXure Partner for Your Outdoor Living Project

Once you've decided to make a significant change to your backyard, knowing who will actually complete the work matters. StruXure Southwest is a StruXure Partner Company and a family-owned and operated local business. We don't use subcontractors, so our team handles installation rather than handing it off to an outside crew.

StruXure Southwest was founded in 2025 as a sister company to Erdmann Outdoor Living, which was founded in 1982. That relationship connects our specialized StruXure operation with an established outdoor living business. Upgrade also offers financing for homeowners interested in payment options for their project.
