Your Own Outdoor Escape
Picture a corner of your backyard or a stretch beside the pool that finally has a purpose. That's what Cabana X brings to the table. We're StruXure Southwest, the exclusive StruXure partner serving Scottsdale, and we work with homeowners in the Phoenix Metro to reimagine the outdoor corners that often get little attention.
Cabana X is a freestanding motorized cabana, built for homeowners who want something more adaptable than a fixed patio cover but don't need the scale of an attached pergola. You can open the motorized louvers to let in sunlight and airflow, angle them for partial coverage, or close them fully for more overhead protection. Whatever the weather brings, Cabana X gives you a way to meet it head-on.
A Shared Foundation with Different Features
Both models start with the same Cabana MOD system, a consistent 10-by-10 structure that offers plenty of choices in finishes, backdrops, and canopy styles. Where they part ways is in what happens once the sun goes down and how much control you're after.

Cabana X Core
Core delivers the essentials: a freestanding structure with a motorized louvered roof you can adjust with the push of a button. Its aluminum build keeps upkeep manageable while standing up to outdoor exposure over time.
Stainless steel hardware and the powder-coated finish help it hold its look through intense sun, temperature swings, and seasonal humidity. If adjustable shade is what you're after, Core covers it without any added lighting or connected features.

Cabana X Core+
Core+ starts with the same frame, louver system, and finish options as Core, and then adds integrated LED lighting and Wi-Fi capability. Built-in lighting means the area remains just as welcoming after dark, without having to set up lamps each evening.
Wi-Fi connectivity also lets you manage the louver position from a personal device, folding your cabana into however you already control other parts of your setup. If you picture yourself using the cabana well into the evening, Core+ delivers on that.
Choose Your Backdrop, Finish, and Feel
Cabana X is meant to grow alongside your property and how you spend time outside it, and our Cabana MOD system lets you shape the structure to your preferences rather than settling for a standard shade cover. Starting from the 10-by-10 frame, you can choose from finishes, backdrops, canopy details, lighting, and configurations that suit your home.
Backdrop and canopy options include:
Louvered: Adjustable slats that balance airflow, shade, and privacy.
Slat: Fixed horizontal slats for clean lines and steady partial coverage.
Fabric: Soft panels that add texture and a softer quality of shade.
Tilt: Angled panels that direct coverage and give the structure a contemporary look.
Monogram: Personalized panels for a distinctive decorative touch.
Open: An unobstructed layout for maximum airflow and visibility.
Each option influences how well the cabana complements your yard, resulting in a structure that reflects your home instead of a one-size-fits-all design.

Materials Chosen for Desert Conditions
Scottsdale summers are tough on outdoor structures. Long stretches of UV exposure, high surface heat, dust, and monsoon moisture can quickly expose weak points in lower-quality materials. Cabana X's aluminum frame won't rust the way untreated steel does, and it skips the seasonal repainting that wood structures often need. The powder-coated finish helps protect its look through extended sun exposure, and stainless steel hardware adds durability at every connection point, even during humid stretches.
The louvered roof gives you more control than a fixed cabana ever could. On the hottest days, angle the louvers to block direct sun while letting warm air escape. When a light rain rolls through, closing them helps keep the space usable. Cabana X won't replace a totally enclosed room, but it gives homeowners covered outdoor living without shutting off the sky or the view.
Easy Upkeep Through Every Season
Keeping a Cabana X looking good doesn't take much effort. Your installation walkthrough will cover the specific care recommendations for your model and any accessories you've chosen, so upkeep never feels like guesswork.
In most cases, a periodic rinse clears dust, pollen, leaves, and other debris from the frame and louvers, and a mild cleaning solution is usually all you need. Skip abrasive cleaners or harsh tools, since they can wear down the powder-coated finish. Keep the area around the moving louvers free of branches and buildup, and after a dust storm or monsoon, check and clear anything that might obstruct normal operation.
Compared to the shade it provides, the care it asks for in return is minimal.

Planning for Permits and HOA Approval
Plenty of 10-by-10 Cabana X installations don't require a traditional building permit, though requirements vary by municipality, property, setback rules, utility lines, and any community association involved. Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, and the neighboring communities don't all follow the same playbook, and placement can affect what approvals apply.
We'll go over what's known to apply during your consultation. If you belong to an HOA, it's worth checking ahead of time whether they require architectural approval for freestanding structures, finishes, or placement, since that can shape your timeline more than the installation itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both share the same 10-by-10 Cabana MOD structure, aluminum build, and motorized louvered roof. Core focuses on adjustable shade and weather control, while Core+ adds LED lighting and Wi-Fi for homeowners who want connected controls.
Pricing depends on the model, finish, backdrop and canopy selections, accessories, and any site preparation needed. A standard Core setup will cost less than a customized Core+ structure with lighting and decorative panels.
It can, depending on the backdrop and canopy you choose. Louvered, slat, fabric, tilt, and decorative panels can screen specific sides of the structure while keeping airflow intact.
The modular design gives you more flexibility than a site-built structure, but moving one isn't as simple as rearranging patio furniture. It needs to stay properly supported and assembled, so check with us before attempting to move or reconfigure an installed Cabana X.
Make More of Your Backyard with Cabana X
Your backyard doesn't need a full renovation to feel more comfortable. The right Cabana X configuration can add adjustable shade, a defined gathering spot, and a modern focal point, all without attaching anything to your home.
Schedule a free Cabana X consultation with StruXure Southwest, and we'll help you build a configuration suited to your home and how you want to spend your time outdoors.
