Louvered Roof Installation for Florence, AZ, Backyards

By the time the afternoon sun reaches an uncovered patio in Florence, that part of the backyard can quickly become a place you'd rather look at from inside. A permanent patio cover provides shade, but it also means giving up the open sky on the days when being outside feels just right. What if your roof could adjust instead?

StruXure Southwest helps Florence homeowners get more control over their outdoor spaces with motorized louvered roof systems. Adjustable louvers let you bring in sunlight and airflow when you want them, create shade when the heat builds, and close overhead when conditions change. Instead of designing your day around the patio, you can make the patio respond to you.

Why an Adjustable Louvered Roof Makes Sense in Florence

Arizona sunshine is one reason outdoor living is so appealing, but direct exposure can also make an uncovered patio uncomfortable during the hottest parts of the day. A fixed patio cover solves one problem by creating permanent shade. A louvered roof gives you another option.

The motorized aluminum louvers rotate to control how much sunlight and airflow reach the space below. Open them for blue sky and fresh air, angle them for partial shade, or close them for greater overhead protection. Pergola X systems also incorporate drainage to direct water away when the louvers are closed.

That adjustability makes the system useful for more than escaping the summer sun. On a comfortable morning or cooler day, you aren't stuck underneath a permanently closed roof when you'd rather enjoy the sunshine.

Find the Right StruXure System for Your Backyard

Where you want your shade and how you plan to use the finished space can help determine which StruXure system makes sense.

Pergola X and Cabana X offer two approaches to creating adjustable coverage:

Pergola X: Bring Adjustable Shade to Your Patio

Pergola X can attach to your home's structure or stand alone, making it adaptable to different backyard layouts. Over an existing patio, outdoor kitchen, dining area, or gathering space, Pergola X lets you change the conditions above without losing the open-air feel that makes the space enjoyable in the first place.

Cabana X: Create a Separate Place to Unwind

Cabana X takes the freestanding approach. Rather than extending coverage directly from the home, it creates a distinct destination elsewhere in the backyard.

The motorized louvers can open for sunlight, angle for partial coverage, or close for additional overhead protection. That makes Cabana X worth considering when you envision a shaded lounge, poolside retreat, reading area, or gathering space separated from the main patio.

Add Motorized Screens for More Control

A louvered roof manages what happens overhead, while motorized screens provide additional control around the sides of your outdoor space. Depending on the screen selected, they can help with direct sunlight, insects, privacy, and wind. When you want the patio open again, the screens retract into their housing rather than becoming a permanent enclosure.

For homeowners building a more complete covered patio, combining adjustable overhead coverage with retractable screens provides another way to adapt the space throughout the day.

Build Your Outdoor Space From the Ground Up

If your plans involve more than adding shade to an existing patio, StruXure Southwest also provides deck design and installation. A custom deck can create a foundation for dining, entertaining, or relaxing, while a Pergola X or Cabana X provides adjustable coverage above.

Because StruXure Southwest handles both services, you can consider the deck and covered structure together rather than as two unrelated projects. That can be especially useful when you're starting with an open backyard and want the finished space to feel intentional.

Work With a StruXure Partner Company

A louvered roof is a significant addition to your home, so the installation team matters just as much as the product. StruXure Southwest is a family-owned and operated StruXure Partner Company. Our team handles installation in-house rather than using subcontractors, keeping one company responsible for the project from planning through completion.

StruXure Southwest was founded in 2025 as a sister company of Erdmann Outdoor Living, founded in 1982. That relationship connects our specialized StruXure operation with an established outdoor living business. Upgrade also offers financing for qualified homeowners who prefer to spread the cost of their project over time.
